I have found a new obsession that honestly is one of the coolest shows on the History Channel. The show is called American Pickers. The show is about two guys who own and run their own business called Antique Archaeology based in the state of Iowa. They also have a newer store in Nashville, Tennessee too. The two guys named Mike and Frankie, go out on long road trips across the United States in search of what they call "rusty gold" AKA antiques. They go out and search through barns, fields, old buildings and any other places that have what most people consider "junk" and offer to buy the items from the owners. They love what they do too and have been doing it for around twenty years or more. I really enjoy watching this show every week because I find it interesting in what hidden jewels they find. Some of the items remind me of being a kid all over again and playing with items of yesteryear. In a very special way American Pickers keeps the past alive for all who watch the show. Mike and Frankie are like kids themselves when you see them light up over finding something rare or unusual (especially Frankie). The show tugs at your heartstrings at times when they meet a little elderly lady and treat her like family complete with hugs and the best manners you'll ever hear or see in a show. Mike and Frankie also have Danielle, who is the lovely lady who works at their Antique Archaeology store in Iowa and sometimes at the Nashville store. Danielle does a lot of research and cold calling to provide the guys with good leads for them to check out on the road. She is sends them coordinates to the many locations they go to and provides the contact info they need as well. Danielle looks like a pretty rockabilly pin up girl so if you "Google" her online, don't be surprised to see her many pictures and posters on the web. Even Amazon think the American Pickers are cool, with the many cool American Pickers gear they have available. You can see for yourself what Amazon has in their "gear" by clicking the link I have provided in this blog entry. I have already ordered some gear for myself and my hubby. Can't wait for it to get here. I totally recommend anyone and everyone, even your kids should watch the American Pickers show on the History channel. The show has lots of interesting facts behind all the "junk" they find. You can watch the show with your kids, and tell them about the items you had as a kid or at least it's an opportunity to share your knowledge about historical things with the kids. My kids get excited to watch the American Pickers because after the show is done, they want to go out on a scavenger hunt to look for old junk and ask you what you think of the things they have found. And that includes going to antique shops or yard sales etc. Time goes by too fast, so I celebrate the excitement, happiness and enthusiasm they have when they want to have an adventure with Mom and Dad. It makes you value family time and celebrate the good old days together. American Pickers is a show not to be missed. Please watch the show at least once or more and leave me a comment about what you think of the show. Also check out the cool American Pickers gear from Amazon, just click on the link at the top left and see what you think. They even have kids sizes too. Thanks for stopping by and come back soon :) Take care and God bless you :)http://fathomblue.hubpages.com/hub/Proudly-Made-in-the-USA
